CHAOS IN NEW ORLEANS AFTER KATRINA A body of a victim of Hurricane Katrina in downtown New Orleans is left behind by officials. 82nd Airborne soldiers are patrolling the streets keeping the peace. Bodies are tied to street posts and signs to keep from floating up to peoples porches. A man wades through the flood waters in his neighborhood. Louisiana State Police patrol the flood waters by boat on constant lookout for snipers. A man in shock is literally baking in his car while police remove him by gunpoint to save his life.
