SARAJEVO - GENERAL MACKENZIE Mortar attacks by the Yugoslavian National Army. General Lewis Mackenzie, of the Canadian Army in Sarajevo, with a handful of other Canadians, are working with the European community to bring order out of the chaos. Mackenzie negotiated the return of one hundred fifty six Yugoslavian troops, mostly Serbian, held by the Bosnians. Seventeen of them chose to stay behind and join the Bosnian Army.

A member of a Croatian terrorist organization fired on his car, killing the king and fatally wounding the French foreign minister, Louis Barthou.
