KING ALEXANDER ASSASINATED IN 1934 King Alexander of Yugoslavia is assassinated on October 10, 1934. The King debarked at Marseilles on a state visit to France. A member of a Croatian terrorist organization fired on his car, killing the king and fatally wounding the French foreign minister, Louis Barthou.
