HITLER WATCHES OWENS SET RECORD Wonderfully crisp footage from Berlin in 1936 shows Jesse Owens before, during and after his gold medal winning sprint in the 100 meter dash. CUs of Owens in starting position and then smiling, breathing hard, after the race. Hitler looks on, not smiling. American fans wave little flags in stadium. NAZIS LEAD BOYCOTT OF JEWS Nazis lead Berliners in anti-semitic chanting. Storm troopers ride in an open military vehicle, Nazi flags flying, as they chant. HESS INTRODUCES HITLER AND KRYSTALLNACHT At a massive indoor rally, Rudolf Hess gives The Fuhrer a loud introduction. Hitler alternately looks stern and pleased, giving a little smile. BERLIN NAZIS CELEBRATE VICTORY On the night after he becomes German chancellor, Hitler watches a torchlight parade of celebrating Germans. Framed in a window, Hitler gives the Nazi salute. President von Hindenburg watches from another window. Overhead shot of marchers, a line of torchs in the night. Marchers carry Nazi flag, Hitler poster. HITLER MAKES SILLY GESTURE Standing in the middle of a crowd of adoring factory workers, Hitler quiets the audience with a waving gesture that seems unusually shy. NAZI MEDIA UNDER GOEBBELS Joseph Goebbels enters a radio studio to Nazi salutes from military officers. He sits down and speaks into microphones. A man turns dials on a control panel.
