BOULDER DAM OPENS - 1936 - AERIAL The waters pour into the newly opened Boulder Dam (aka Hoover Dam) to begin the massive task of filling the dam. Aerial of the dam as it fills up with white water. The new dam was opened in 1936 bringing a new source of power to the United States.

PRESIDENT FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT OPENS THE NEW BOULDER DAM - 1936 American President Franklin D. Roosevelt opens the newly constructed Boulder Dam (aka Hoover Dam). "In the name of the people of the United States to whom you Boulder Dam are a symbol of greater things in the future and in the honored presence of guests from many nations I call you to life." Hoover's hand is then shown pressing the button on the device that begins the flow of water into the Dam.
FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE JOHN FOSTER DULLES American international lawyer John Foster Dulles talks about the debt that France owes the U.S. and notes that, "however, there is no sheriff to collect international debt." Dulles was later appointed Secretary of State under the administration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
ALLIED CHECKPOINT SIGN - BERLIN, GERMANY An American flag waves in the wind over an “Allied Checkpoint” sign with American, Britain and French flags painted below the letters. These checkpoints were part of the Berlin Wall, a 28-year barrier created by Soviet leaders in East Germany and East Berlin to stop people from fleeing communism for the democracy of West Berlin. In 1989 when the borders between East and West Germany opened these checkpoints were abolished.
