SOLDIERS RECOVER IN A FIELD HOSPITAL - VIETNAM WAR Injured soldiers recover in a field hospital during the Vietnam War. There is an exterior shot of the hospital with a Red Cross painted on the roof for easy sighting from the air, a heavily bandaged young soldier is treated by a medical team and other soldiers lay in bed resting or sit together on a bench. One handsome young soldier writes a letter to a loved one.

A medical instrument, looking much like a handgun, is used to implant electrodes allowing heart rhythms to be monitored with a portable external device. The two patients on which the procedure is conducted (an adult male and a young boy) show no evidence of pain or discomfort during or after the installation of the monitor.
