SARAJEVO - GENERAL MACKENZIE Mortar attacks by the Yugoslavian National Army. General Lewis Mackenzie, of the Canadian Army in Sarajevo, with a handful of other Canadians, are working with the European community to bring order out of the chaos. Mackenzie negotiated the return of one hundred fifty six Yugoslavian troops, mostly Serbian, held by the Bosnians. Seventeen of them chose to stay behind and join the Bosnian Army.

SARAJEVO CEASEFIRE A ceasefire in Sarajevo; the truce follows sixteen hours of fierce fighting between the Yugoslav Federal Army and forces supporting independence for Bosnia Herzegovina. Muslim President of Bosnia, Alija Izetbegovi, after being held by Yugoslav military for more than twenty-four hours is freed.
