EUROPEAN LEADERS SIGN MUNICH AGREEMENT Tensions in Europe grow as Hitler's armies expand and set their sights on Czechoslovakia for annexation. In a final deal to avert war the leaders of France, England, Italy and Germany meet at the Fuhrerbau in Munich and on September 30, 1938 they sign the Munich Agreement.
WORLD WAR II BEGINS Germany invades Poland and World War II begins. France declares war and moves it's army into the great Maginot Line. Britain transports a huge army to France. The Anglo-French naval supremacy is the Allies' greatest asset for a victory. Destroyers fire their cannons.
