U.S. Marines and units of Chiang Kai Shek's forces take part in joint manceuvers on the beaches of Formosa. Soldiers in action as tanks are deployed from transport ships.
U.S. BUILD-UP AFFECTS QUEMOY CRISIS Tension in the Far East continues unabated, but America's massive military build-up in the Formosa Strait alters the situation, as the strangling blockade of Quemoy is lifted by convoys that move supplies in, and move wounded out--including one American. Meanwhile, U.S. jets continue to patrol the skies.
