CERMAN DESCRIBES PLANNED EVA Astronaut Eugene A. Cernan describes an animation of the planned EVA (Extra Vehicular Activity) for the upcoming Gemini 9 mission. The simulation shows him exiting the spacecraft, then being propelled a distance from it, using the thruster rockets. To insure that he can return, he is tethered by a thick cable. He then is seen returning to and entering the spacecraft.
