'CHATEAUGAY' WINS KENTUCKY DERBY Upwards of 100,000 people jam Churchill Downs for the 89th running of the Kentucky Derby. Undefeated "No Robbery" and "Candy Spots" and "Never Bend" are the top three horses, but a 9-1 outsider, "Chateaugay" puts on a stretch run that gives him the "Run For The Roses" in a thrilling finish.
1948 OLYMPIC PLAYOFF BASKETBALL Basketball provides thrills and excitement for 18,000 fans, as the Phillips Oilers defeat the Kentucky Stars in a 53-49 Olympic playoffs
decision. Tied at half-time, the Oilers race to a last-minute lead. The team coaches Browning and Rupp hold trophies as they get their picture taken.
1963 KENTUCKY DERBY The horses make their entrances for the 1963 Kentucky Derby. Featured are Chateaugay, Candy Spots, Never Bend, and No Robbery. Coverage of the race. Chateaugay wins the race with Never Bend in second and Candy Spots in third.
