He ceremoniously touches the shoulders of someone in a white sheet. WS shows group of white-sheeted men sitting in a circle. They rise in unison and bow. Two night shots with hooded men, one shot with a burning cross. Also, a grisly still of a triple lynching.
KLAN MEMBERS BURN CROSS Images from a Klan rally. As a cross burns in the night, a white-hooded Klan member walks by holding a flaming torch. Panning shot shows group of sheet-wearing racists. In one chilling shot, an evil looking Klansman dangles a doll effigy of an African American baby from a string.
KLANSMEN MAKE CIRCLE, BURN CROSS Unusual step-by-step coverage shows white racists at a KKK cross burning. Men in white hoods and robes line up. Good CUs of faces. Various shots show them lighting torches in a fire and standing in a big circle, flames puncuating the night. A giant cross goes up in flames. After the cross ignites the racists toss their torches into the middle of the circle.
RACISTS GIVE DOLLARS TO KLAN 7The Klan holds a fundraiser at night attended by men in white sheets and other white men, women and at least one child in civilian clothing. CU of a leader in a black hood and robe gesturing as he asks for donations. Various shots of attendees walking up to speaker and handing over cash. CU of a fist holding paper money. A man counts the haul at a table.
MADDOX WON'T SERVE BLACKS - HD Outside of a restaurant in Atlanta, white men angry at the passage of the Civil Rights Act, threaten blacks with a baseball bat and axe handles. Lester Maddox, future Governor of Georgia and owner of the restaurant, leads them. In response to an interviewer, he lists all the weapons he will use to prevent the integration of his business.
