PENN'S BULLET-RIDDEN CAR - HD The car in which Lemuel Penn was shot and killed sits behind a fence. Penn, a decorated WW II officer, was killed by Klan members as he drove through Georgia. Governor Carl Sanders makes a statement denouncing the crime.

MADDOX WON'T SERVE BLACKS - HD Outside of a restaurant in Atlanta, white men angry at the passage of the Civil Rights Act, threaten blacks with a baseball bat and axe handles. Lester Maddox, future Governor of Georgia and owner of the restaurant, leads them. In response to an interviewer, he lists all the weapons he will use to prevent the integration of his business.
