WATTS RIOTS OF 1965 - POLICE ATTEMPT TO RESTORE ORDER Police attempt to bring order to the neighborhoods of Watts during a major riot. Two officers talk to several black women and children wrapped in blankets then cut away to police shoving several young black men up against a wall.
WATTS RIOTS OF 1965 - POLICE DISARM SUSPECT Two police officers take a young black man into custody during the Watts riots. One of the officers notices they are being filmed and says something to the other officer who holds up a gun confiscated from the suspect.
WATTS RIOTS OF 1965 - DEAD MAN A police officer rolls the lifeless body of a badly beaten young black man on to his back who has been killed in the 1965 Watts riots over and checks to see if the man is alive. Thirty four people were killed and over a thousand injured during the five day riots.
DETROIT RIOTS OF 1967 - POLICE ARREST SUSPECT Two police officers march a young black man in a white shirt over to a car and shove him inside as other officers watch. Police and troops brought in to stop the violence during the Detroit riots were thought to have fueled more violence since complaints of police brutality against black citizens played a major role in the riots.
