STYLE NOTES FROM ITALY Italy's "New Look" in fashions and a far cry from Dior's. Refined lines and graceful ornamentation are the keynotes here, while the feminine figure retains its curves in these new modes.
CONCENTRATION CAMP VICTIMS Emaciated, disfigured concentration camp survivors are liberated by American troops in Nazi Germany. A club used for torturing and disfigurement is displayed. Emaciated, twisted corpses, some bearing tatooed numbers on their abdomens, fill several trenches and are piled in mass graves. A dual oven is opened to reveal charred skeletal remains. Survivors cry and stare hollow-eyed at the camera as they're loaded via stretchers onto trucks by American soldiers. Local German peasants are forced to remove individual corpses for reburial.
