Emperor of Ethiopia Haile Selassie I and the royal family and close friends seek sanctuary from the British with the defeat of Ethiopia to Italian troops. The royal party disembark from a British ship in Palestine then board a train. The Emperor would spend the next five years in exile returning to Ethiopia in 1941 only after Italy's defeat by United Kingdom and Ethiopian patriot forces.
