" . . . A BEAUTY THAT'S ALMOST HOMELY BECAUSE IT'S SO REAL" SOUND BITE A driver assesses the appearance of his female passenger. Through voiceover narration, he observes, "Man, she looked as if she had just been thrown off the crummiest freight train in the world. Yet in spite of this I got the impression of beauty. Not the beauty of a movie actress, mind you, or the beauty that you dream about with your wife, but a natural beauty--a beauty that's almost homely because it's so real."
"ARE THE GIRLS IN PHOENIX THAT BAD?" SOUND BITE The driver guesses where his passenger is from. "Oh sure, Phoenix. You look just like a Phoenix girl." "Are the girls in Phoenix that bad?" she retorts.
"IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT" SOUND BITE A car salesman walks up to a convertible that just pulled into the sales lot. "We're interested in selling a car," says the female passenger. "If the price is right," the driver adds.
"JUST IMAGINE A GOOD LOOKING GIRL BETWEEN US HERE" SOUND BITE Two men wearing suits and fedora hats are sitting in the driver and front passenger seats of a car. "And the roominess, this seat is plenty wide for three people," remarks the passenger. The driver replies, "Plenty, with room to spare. Just imagine a good looking girl between us here." "Well now, this might be a little tough but," the passenger chuckles, "I'll try." The screen fades to black and reappears with a well-dressed young woman sitting between the two men. "And what a beautiful car," says the woman, who then disappears.
"SAY IF THIS WERE AN ORDINARY CAR I'D BE ROLLING ALL AROUND." SOUND BITE Two men wearing suits and fedora hats are driving in a car. "Say, if this were an ordinary car I'd be rolling all around. It's marvelous how she keeps on an even keel," remarks the passenger. The driver responds, "That's what everyone says who rides in it. And the back seat rides as smoothly as the front." "Oh, it's wonderful, and real news," agrees the passenger.
"WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION AND BALANCE DOES IT" SOUND BITE Two men wearing suits and fedora hats are driving in a car. "70! That's hugging the road and hardly any side-sway," exclaims the passenger. The driver responds, "Weight distribution and balance does it. They're just right in this automobile."
"YOU HAVEN'T BEGUN TO SEE WHAT THIS CAR WILL DO." SOUND BITE A driver wearing a suit and a fedora hat asks, "Would you like to see some stunts?" "Well those last 5 minutes looked like stunting to me," replies his surprised passenger, who is similarly dressed. The driver responds, "That was ordinary. You haven't begun to see what this car will do." "Alright, let's go!" exclaims the passenger.
