JEWISH CZECHS EXILED BY NAZIS Following German annexation of Czechoslovakia's Sudetenland region some 80 Jewish families are exiled from their homes by the Nazis. They are also not allowed to enter the still-free region of Czechoslovakia and end up in no man's land near the border slowly starving to death, casualties of the coming war.
CHINESE CIVIL WAR Images from the Chinese Civil War show a crowd of starving peasants with outstretched hands trying to grab food that is being distributed. RED CROSS AIDS DROUGHT VICTIMS In Marked Tree, Arkansas the Red Cross rushes relief in an effort to aid drought victims.
