MARATHON DANCE CONTEST - WEARY COUPLES TRY TO KEEP GOING The headlines announce a 18 day and night dance marathon then cut to a scene straight out of the movie "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" One poor girl is so tired her partner is literally holding her up as she flops like a ragdoll in his arms. Marathon dance contests were a huge craze in the 1930s that thankfully didn't last.
FLAG POLE SITTING TAKEN TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL Taking flagpole sitting to a whole new level a stuntman uses his body to swing his "pole" back and forth in the air on top of a towering building. A view of the city streets below shows just how far he could fall. Stunts such as these were popular in the 1930s and subject to increasing levels of insanity as seen here.

BOYS DO WATER STUNTS AT TORONTO HARBOR Using ramps mounted on a tow truck or on the ground at edge of water, group of teen boys ride their bikes up the ramps, and then fly into the water. Once in the water, the boys are pulled out by friends using ropes.
