BRITISH RULERS END U.S. TOUR At Mount Vernon, King George lays a wreath at the tomb of George Washington. Later, with Queen Elizabeth he pays tribute to the tomb of the unknown soldier at Arlington Cemetery. With 3,000,000 people cheering the monarchs the royal couple arrives at the World's Fair in New York. A visit with the Roosevelts in Hyde Park, N.Y. at the President's estate brings an end to the royal tour.
F.D.R. OPENS N.Y. WORLD'S FAIR The opening of the New York World's Fair, "The World Of Tomorrow". A spectacular pageant of color and engineering skill is jammed with excited sightseers. President Roosevelt dedicates the exhibit calling for good will and world peace. It opens on the anniversary of George Washington's inauguration and features a large statue of the first President. The pictures at night are spectacular.
