PRESIDENT KENNEDY ADDRESSES U.N In a major address to the United Nations General Assembly, President John F. Kennedy hails the pause in the Cold War, while taking note of Cuba and Berlin. Then he makes the startling proposal that the United States and the Soviet Union cooperate rather than compete--and together try to put a Man on the Moon.
U.N. ASSEMBLY OPENS The 18th session of the United Nations General Assembly opens on a note of optimism as representatives of 111 member nations meet to elect a new President for the coming year. The optimism is based on the nuclear test ban treaty and Dr. Carlos Sosa Rodriquez of Venezuela receives all of the votes cast and takes over as Assembly President.
BARACK OBAMA'S FIRST 100 DAYS President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden at a press conference with Senator Arlen Specter after he switched from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party.
