G.I. CANINES GET HONORABLE DISCHARGES Dogs of the famous K-9 Corps go through an intensive "toughening up process" to fit them for military duty. When honorably discharged, they loaf for two months on a Dude Ranch, getting "domesticated" for a return to civilian life.
LEDO ROAD OPENS After many had failed on the Ledo Road project, the task was assigned to Brigadeer General L.A. Pike, Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army. He constructed the 478 mile road, through mountain jungles, across swamps, spanning 400 streams or rivers and solving every conceivable kind of engineering problem.rnThe first convoy, made up of 100 trucks, loaded with supplies for China, sets out, with General Pike fittingly at its head.
V-MAIL The marvel of V-mail is explained. Full-size letters are photographed on l6mm film, a small roll of which contains 1,800 letters. Then huge planes rush prints of the film overseas, many thousands of reduced letters at a time. At the mail base, full-size letters are reproduced.
