A LESSON IN MACHINERY Ways various machinery works. Shots include train wheels, a dump truck, a man shoveling sand into a box, the same man pulling the box up an incline, a diagram showing how a wedge is useful in lifting and splitting objects, a knife and chisel are demonstrated as wedges, a screw is shown as a sort of incline, a screw clamp holds a block of wood in place, a screw jack is demonstrated being moved by hand and by lever, the lever's various parts are shown, we see a person's hands typing and various rotary levers/pulleys are shown and demonstrated.
PEOPLE ON TIANAMEN SQUARE Inside communist China, shots of Bejing, China's Tiananmen Square include a LS of the Monument to the People's Heroes with people lined up in front. A hand with a ring comes over the camera and blocks the view. In the distance, an orderly line of people walks with a soldier to their side and we zoom in on the line, a LS of the square with crowds walking in different directions, people walking up to and standing in front of the Gate of Heavenly Peace, cars and buses travelling with people behind and front of them and a MS of two men looking suspiciously at the camera.

CURRENCY ON THE FACTORY LINE Stacks of sheets of dollar bills run along a press, rotate through a drum and come out of a huge machine onto a conveyor belt where they move along slowly. The stacks are cut mechanically and a hand holds a bankroll, flipping the dollars.
