PENN STATE WINS FIRST LIBERTY BOWL In Philadelphia, Penn State against Alabama in the first edition of a new post-season classic, the Liberty Bowl. It's a scoreless tussle all the way until a bit of skull-duggery in the form of a fake field goal try brings the Nittany Lions the lone tally and Penn State wins 7-0.
