TEXAS BEATS ALABAMA IN THE ORANGE BOWL Alabama and Texas square off in the Orange Bowl of 1965. Ernie Koy makes a 79 yard touchdown run. Joe Namath is quarterback for Alabama. Alabama blocks a field goal attempt which results in two possession turn-overs leaving Texas with the ball. Texas stops Alabama three times near the endzone keeping the score 21 to 17. The Texas Longhorns win.

U.S. HOCKEY TEAMS WINS OLYMPIC GOLD The U.S. hockey sextet scores a stirring come-back to defeat Czechoslovakia anD win the U.S.'s first hockey gold medal in the history of the winter games. NOTE: Reporter voice-over requires additional clearances.
EAST GAINS POLO TITLE FROM WEST The East takes back their winning title from the West in a no-holds barred polo game for the season close. Afterwards the team of Michael Phipps, James Mills, Winston Guest, and William Post celebrate by drinking from the cup they've won.
1963 WORLD SERIES OF BASEBALL The Los Angeles Dodgers (ex-Brooklyn bums) give the New York Yankees the bum's rush in the first two games of the World Series. In the first game, left hander, Sandy Koufax sets a Series mark as he strikes out 15 Yankees. With the New Yorkers' vaunted power throttled, the Dodgers go on to down the World Champions 5 to 2. The second day is almost a replay of the first. Again--it's fine Dodger pitching and they, not the Yankees, are again the power at the plate. Before it's over the Dodgers are on top, 4 to 1, and lead the Yankees two games to none as they head for the West Coast.
PRESIDENT KENNEDY ADDRESSES U.N In a major address to the United Nations General Assembly, President John F. Kennedy hails the pause in the Cold War, while taking note of Cuba and Berlin. Then he makes the startling proposal that the United States and the Soviet Union cooperate rather than compete--and together try to put a Man on the Moon.
POLO GROUNDS CLOSES The Polo Grounds is about to give way to arnhousing development. The Mets play their last game there before moving to a new stadium. Except for a few football games in the fall crowds will no longer pour into the Polo Grounds. Casey Stengel, with his wife waves farewell to the Stadium.
ANNUAL LUMBERJACK PAGEANT The tables are turned, at the annual lumberjack pageant. Pretty bathing beauties reverse procedures by picking the handsomest woodsman. He's rough, tough and shaves with an axe. Also footage of a luge accident and male and female water-skiers.
