1955 PAN AMERICAN GAMES Track and field records topple in the Pan American Games held in Mexico City, Mexico. The pole vault crown is captured yet again by Rev. Bob Richards with the U.S. sweeping the games followed by Argentina and Mexico.
NATIONAL LEAGUE WINS ALL-STAR GAME - 1955 The National League wins the 22nd all-star game with a 6-5 score in the 12th inning thanks to a home run hit by Stan Musial that arches high into the bleachers behind right field. Musial then lopes around the bases and is greeted by his cheering team at home plate.
