RUSSIANS FIGHT NAZIS IN GERMANY Russian troops battle Nazis in Germany as they push towards Berlin. A convoy of tanks travels down a road, Russian military commanders confer, shells are fired from many mortar guns, armed Cossacks gallop down a road, shells explode rural and urban targets, soldiers fire automatic machine guns, buildings are leveled to rubble, a soldier running through the street is killed by a sniper, a machine gunner kills a sniper perched in a window, roads are littered with the corpses of Nazi soldiers, one corpse has a dagger sticking out of its chest.
NAZIS CONFRONTED BY ATROCITIES American soldiers force Nazi officers and bureaucrats to witness the victims of genocide at a concentration camp. Corpses are piled on the ground outside a camp and decayed remains are visible in a mass grave coated with lime.
CONCENTRATION CAMP VICTIMS Emaciated, disfigured concentration camp survivors are liberated by American troops in Nazi Germany. A club used for torturing and disfigurement is displayed. Emaciated, twisted corpses, some bearing tatooed numbers on their abdomens, fill several trenches and are piled in mass graves. A dual oven is opened to reveal charred skeletal remains. Survivors cry and stare hollow-eyed at the camera as they're loaded via stretchers onto trucks by American soldiers. Local German peasants are forced to remove individual corpses for reburial.
U.N. CONVENES IN SAN FRANCISCO Various world leaders and diplomats arrive at the convening of the United Nations in San Francisco as guards hold back the gawking crowd. Included are British Prime Minister Anthony Eden, South African Premier Jan Smuts, Machenzie King of Canada, Soviet Foreign Commisar Molotov, French and Saudi delegations and Senator Connelly. U.S. Secretary of State Edward R. Stettinius opens the session: The conference of the United Nations on international organization is now convened. President Harry Truman addresses the delegates in an abbreviated clip.
