"AMERICAN NURSE" FLIGHT CREW DISAPPEARS - 1932 Itís the last time Danish pilot William Ulbrich, Dr. Leon Pisculli, Edna Newcomer and woodchuck Tailwind are seen as they board their plane "American Nurse" from Floyd Bennett Field, N. Y. to Rome. The trioís intent is study the effects of fatigue and carbon monoxide gas as possible causes of transatlantic flight crashes. Ironically their plane disappears before they reach Italy joining the ranks of unsolved mysteries.
"BATTLE HYMN" HERO, COL. HESS VISITS KOREAN CHILDREN Air Force Colonel Dean Hess, the famed "Flying Parson" of World War Two andrnKorea, revisits the hundreds of Korean orphans who are now his wards, after his rescue of them from battle zones and founding of an orphanage. A modern new building is under construction now--to which is pledged his earnings from his book 'Battle Hymn" and the forthcoming U-I film of the same name.
"MERCY" PLANE BACK FROM CHILE The giant 4-motored "Flying Fortress", which took medical supplies to victims of the earthquake in Chile, lands returns to Virgina. The commander, is awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for the relief flight.
