TRACK CLASSIC MEET Penn ties 16 year old mile relay mark in classic track meet
In Philadelphia, PA the spring carnival is marked by the heroic efforts of the Ohio State University team that upset the quarter-mile and medley events. Spills that carve nicks in hurdlers' shins feature a hard fought contest in the rain before a crowd that almost filled the vast stadium at Franklin Field.

1960 PENN STATE RELAYS Scenes from the 66th Penn State Relays held at Franklin Field where track and field athletes contend for Olympic selection. Don "Tarzan" Bragg jumps 15 feet in the pole vault. Ray Norton wish the 200 meter dash against Dave Simon and Bobby Morrow. John Thomas sets a record in the high jump with a 7 ft. 1 1/2 inch leap.

SPORTS POLE VAULT RECORD AT PENN RELAYS The Penn Relays, 69th running, sees a soaring record in the Pole Vault as Brian Sternberg of the University of Washington clears the bar at 16 ft., 5 inches, a world record. The 440-yard relay is copped by Michigan State after they also win the 880-yard. Other events are covered.
