CLEANING PROCESS FOR COFFEE BEANS Water pours into a large containment area holding a large load of ripe coffee beans. Beans floating on water through a small canal as a worker reaches into the stream and pulls out a handful of the beans.
COFFEE BEAN INSPECTION AND SEPARATION A factory machine separates coffee beans according to size. Female workers also separate beans by hand, and a male worker loads large sacks with beans in preparation for shipping.

COFFEE BEANS RAKED INTO PILES AND COVERED Coffee beans are raked by plantation workers into small knee-high piles to dry in the sun. Workers also pull waterproof canvas tarps over two of the piles in order to protect them from unwanted moisture.
