THE EMPEROR OF ETHIOPIA GOES INTO EXILE - 1936 Emperor of Ethiopia Haile Selassie I and the royal family and close friends seek sanctuary from the British with the defeat of Ethiopia to Italian troops. The royal party disembark from a British ship in Palestine then board a train. The Emperor would spend the next five years in exile returning to Ethiopia in 1941 only after Italy's defeat by United Kingdom and Ethiopian patriot forces.
SELASSIE RETURNS TO THRONE The first pictures showing the "Lion of Judah" Selassie's triumphant return to the throne in Ethiopia which he was forced to abandon six years prior. He heads a native army helping Britain regain his lost country.
