Cut to CU of the rocket boosters then back to WS of the shuttle ascending through the air. SPACE SHUTTLE CHALLENGER DISINTEGRATES - 1986 The Space Shuttle Challenger disintegrates 73 seconds into its launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida killing all seven onboard. Flying debris and white vapors paint elaborate patterns against the blue of the sky as the shuttle is torn apart by aerodynamic forces when an O-ring seal on its right solid rocket booster fails causing a flame leak.
