" . . . A BEAUTY THAT'S ALMOST HOMELY BECAUSE IT'S SO REAL" SOUND BITE A driver assesses the appearance of his female passenger. Through voiceover narration, he observes, "Man, she looked as if she had just been thrown off the crummiest freight train in the world. Yet in spite of this I got the impression of beauty. Not the beauty of a movie actress, mind you, or the beauty that you dream about with your wife, but a natural beauty--a beauty that's almost homely because it's so real."
"BUT THAT'S ALL CHANGED NOW" SOUND BITE A well-dressed housewife in a kitchen takes her teacup to the sink. At the same time she says to the camera, "Like so many people these days, we live in the suburbs and Dave needs the car everyday for business. When he was gone, I was practically a prisoner in my own home. I couldn't get out to see my friends, couldn't take part in PTA activities, why I couldn't even shop when I wanted to. I had to wait until Thursday night after Dave brought the car home. But that's all changed now." She then pulls the blinds open.
"DO NOT THROW CIGARETTES FROM CARS" A man flicks his cigarette butt out of his car window which starts a fire in some brush by the side of the road. Another man disposes of his cigarette properly by putting it out in his ashtray.
