HEAT WAVE HITS CITY An extreme heat wave hits the city. Pavement on the highway buckles due to extreme temperatures causing traffic congestion. Highway workers and construction workers have difficulty working in high heats (ws renovation workers replacing roof on residential home). Extreme heat alerts are issued throughout city and cooling centers are opened for relief. Red Cross workers help people needing to get out of heat. Health officials urge people to be careful in high temperatures.
