JUDGE WALTER THAYER'S HOUSE BOMBED - 1932 An explosion wrecks the Worcester, Massachusetts residence of Judge Walter Thayer. Police suspect the bombing as retaliation for the judge’s role in the sentencing and execution of Italian anarchists and accused murderers Ferdinando Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. Fortunately Thayer, his wife and a maid are only injured in the blast.
FIRST AMERICAN TRIED IN VIETNAM COURT - 1965 A South Vietnamese court sentences U.S. aid mission official Robert Kimball to five years in prison after he was tried Saigon's Palace of Justice for the fatal shootings of his boss and a Vietnamese woman Kimball was in love with. He is the first American to be tried in a Vietnamese court.
