CANADIAN LEGION CELEBRATES REMEMBRANCE DAY The Canadian legion celebrate Remembrance Day, a holiday similar to Memorial Day that commemorates the sacrifice of war veterans and civilians during World War I, II and other wars. A red poppy is the symbol of the holiday. School children sing the national anthem and veterans pin poppies on the children and staff.
